I guess it all depends on how bad you want to go to Florida.

Too bad he doesnt worry about your education as much as your hair though, the way its going with your grammar %26amp; spelling your career will be with McDonalds.

If this is all you really have to worry about? Then you don't have any problems.

You do need to respect both your parents, even if they don't seem to respect each other. If one of your parents tells you to do something, then you should probably do it.

But when it comes to dying your hair? You need to tell both of your parents that you are who you are, and they should be glad that all you are doing is dying your hair. Unless you are doing a lot more and then, well...then, you all have some serious problems ahead of you.

If your Dad is a good Dad in all the other areas, like being involved, financially responsible for your support, and looking out for your best interests, in general, then I would say respect him. If you live with your Mom, and she is trying to act like the "good guy" by allowing it, then she is trying to undermine his authority as your parent too. Your Mom and Dad should make these decisions together and not put you in the position of having to choose what's best for you, that is their job!

You should not make your dad control you. Ask him why he even cares so much. But if that doesnt work, maybe temporally you should give in and go back to your natural (personally I think natural hair is best always, but hey what ever floats your boat) hair until after the florida trip.
